Fundraising achievements

Angela Fogarty has been using the new energy from her successful liver transplant to raise, with Gift Aid enhancement, £5000 for PSC research.  Of this, Prof. David Adams, who leads the group at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, is to receive £3000.
Irene Downey raised £322 last August, and a further £220 in November, the proceeds from a car-boot sale.

Jim Nixon, and his daughter Carole, raised £877 in sponsorship money, for a cycle ride between Glasgow and Edinburgh in September 2007.

The Social Club at Dacorum Borough Council, in Hemel Hempstead, had again held a quiz night in memory of colleague Rob Marsden, and raised £377 for PSC SUPPORT.

Modafinil ~ Effective treatment for fatigue ?

We recently wrote that there is some evidence that Modafinil may relieve fatigue.  There have been several small scale trials, including one, with PBC patients,  by Professor David Jones  in Newcastle.  Kevin Dalglish responded to our request to hear from anybody who has tried it.  He finds that it does nothing to relieve his fatigue.  He thinks that Gps will only prescribe it to those diagnosed with sleep disturbance.

Do get in touch with us if you take Modafinil  ~ we are always interested to hear what you think.

How to  pronounce medical words

You may have had the experience of looking foolish when talking to your doctor ~ completely mispronouncing  medical words, and betraying your lack of medical knowledge.  Go to www.howjsay.com and a nice man will pronounce the word for you !
